A MAN was cut free from his car by fire officers after a collision with a bus yesterday.
The accident happened shortly after 3pm, as the blue Peugeot was pulling out of Vulcan Street, St Hilda's, Middlesbrough. It struck the single-deck bus side-on.
Fire and ambulance crews arrived to find the car driver trapped, and debris from both vehicles strewn on the road.
Both drivers were taken to Middlesbrough General Hospital but were later released.
Phil Smith, operations manager for Arriva, said: "An investigation has been launched and we are working closely with the police to establish the exact cause of the collision."
