NATIONAL Park bosses are celebrating a Government cash boost which will fund transport improvements.
A cycle plan, traffic calming measures and pedestrian schemes are among the improvements to be made in the Yorkshire Dales after the Government's approval of North Yorkshire County Council's local transport plan.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority worked in partnership with the county council to develop the transport blueprint.
Chairman of the authority, Steve Macare, said: "By working in partnership with the county council we have been able to secure £500,000 of funding for the Dales.
"This funding will achieve a number of transport improvements that will benefit both the local community and visitors to the National Park.
