POLICE are again urging householders to be extra vigilant after an unusual caller sparked fears of a bizarre new bogus official tactic.
Sarah Jackson became suspicious when a woman claiming to be a clairvoyant said her house in Stockton was about to be broken into.
The so-called clairvoyant predicted her house would be burgled and then quizzed her about her security after Miss Jackson invited her into the house. She wanted to know how often Miss Jackson was in the house, who she lived with, and whether she got the bus or drove.
After 15 minutes, Miss Jackson, 30, became concerned about the questions being asked and asked her to leave.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "This is a new one we have never heard of one like this before.
"We would urge householders to remain vigilant and never let strangers into their homes."
