ELLIE is a springer spaniel who was quite literally left out in the cold.
The little dog is described as friendly and lively, despite her unfortunate start in life.
A week ago, she was taken to the NCDL's Darlington Rehoming Centre at night, tied to the gates and abandoned.
Freezing cold and lonely, she could do nothing but sit and wait until the centre's staff discovered her when they opened up at 7am the following morning.
Now, one-year-old Ellie is desperately seeking a new home with owners who will provide her with the life-long love and security she deserves.
This is the second time a springer has been abandoned at the Darlington centre in such a way.
Just days before Ellie was left, another dog was tied to the gates during the night and left for staff to discover early the next morning. His prospects improved when the centre found a new family.
If you can do the same for Ellie, call the NCDL centre on (01325) 333114. All of the centre's dogs are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, vet checked and are rehomed with six weeks of free insurance.
