AN inquest into the death of an 11-year-old boy was opened and adjourned at Teesside Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Liam Antony Evans, of Ripon Road, Redcar, died at home on Monday.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Hamish Joyce, headteacher of Rye Hills School, in Redcar, where Liam was in his first year, said: "It is with great sorrow that we have learned of the death of Liam, a year seven pupil.
"There is nothing that can prepare any one of us for the terrible shock of hearing of such a sad incident.
"The school is completely devastated at the news and our thoughts are very much with Liam's family."
Arrangements have been made at the school for counselling for year seven pupils and staff
