GREEN-fingered volunteers are needed to help plant trees on a village green this weekend.
Environmental group, the Acorn Trust, is planting trees at the millennium green at Craghead, near Stanley, County Durham, which was created several years ago to improve an area of neglected open space.
Organised by the Groundwork Trust and Craghead Millennium Green Trust, the planting takes place on Sunday, from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to stay as long as they want for the tree planting exercise. They should bring warm old clothes and children under 16 should bring written permission from their parents.
