A MOTHER has made a heartfelt plea for the return of her son's moto-cross bike, stolen only days after he bought it.
The woman, who does not want to be named, said her 15-year-old son was sickened by the theft last Tuesday night after saving £450 over 18 months to buy the green Kawasaki 125.
The bike was chained to a wall in the back yard when the thieves struck. They removed the wheel to steal the bike when they could not break the chain.
The teenager's mum said: "He'd only had it five days. He's putting a brave face on but he's absolutely sickened. He loves going to watch all the moto-cross meetings at Eastgate in Weardale."
Anyone with information about the bike should call Newton Aycliffe Police on (01325) 314401.
