UP to £500,000 is to be pumped into the road network across the Yorkshire Dales during the next 12 months.
Westminster has approved North Yorkshire County Council's Local Transport Plan, which includes a comprehensive package of improvements across the national park.
Cyclists and pedestrians are also due to benefit from projects which aim to slow traffic in some areas, improve the cycle track network and boost public transport.
Yorkshire Dales National Park chairman, Steve Macare, said: "By working in partnership with the county council, we have been able to secure this funding for the Dales. It will achieve a number of transport improvements which will benefit both the local community and visitors.
"As well as leading on a number of the transport initiatives, we will support the county council in whatever way we can to see the aims of the local transport plan realised in the national park."
The authority meets on Tuesday when it is anticipated members will ratify a raft of packages
