WORK starts next month on a pedestrian crossing on one of Hartlepool's busiest roads.
The crossing, outside Golden Flatts Primary School, Seaton Lane, is part of a package of measures to make life safer for people using the road.
The improvements, which will start in half-term and take about two weeks to complete, also include narrowing the road and adding warning markings, to encourage drivers to cut their speed.
The bus stops outside the school will be relocated and replaced with raised stops, to help people with pushchairs and those with mobility problems.
The work, which will cost £75,000, will be funded by the Owton Rossmere Single Regeneration Budget Partnership, Hartlepool Borough Council and the Health Action Zone.
