COMELEON plc, the advanced imaging technology company based at Stanley, County Durham, has announced the appointment to its board of Dr JOHN BRIDGE as a non-executive director.
Dr Bridge, 58, an economist who has extensive experience in corporate planning and strategic development, is chairman of One NorthEast.
Roy Stanley, chief executive of Comeleon, said: "With over 30 years experience in the public, private and academic sectors, Dr Bridge has a wealth of experience and knowledge which will be invaluable to the successful development of Comeleon."
Comeleon successfully floated on AIM in December and utilises advanced digital technology to apply high-resolution decorative images on to electronic consumer goods such as mobile phones and computer mice.
The company is setting up a 40,000sq ft unit at Tanfield Lea in a growth phase expected to create up to 350 jobs in the next three years.
Dr Bridge is also board member of British Trade International, English Partnerships, and Kenmore (UK) and chairman of the North-East Seedcorn Fund and Northern Sights. He sits on the Government's policy advisory group on aviation, is vice-chairman of the national Regional Policy Forum and acts as consultant to a number of private sector companies.

The 25-year-old has travelled extensively around the UK gaining valuable experience of restaurant management. Her responsibilities will include front-of-house duties, operation of the restaurant and bar areas, as well as overall smooth running of the kitchen.
l PAUL PEARSON, from Darlington, has been appointed as business manager at the Springs Health Leisure complex, in Hartlepool. Aged 25, he succeeds Paul Mason, who moves to the company's sister club in Sunderland.
l Leading North-East computer networking and e-business specialist, Knowledge IT, has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of GRAEME LUPTON as account manager. Graeme, from Washington, joins Knowledge from IBM and Xerox, where he was sales manager and worked for 20 years.
