A SPECIAL event was staged yesterday to highlight sports provision for the disabled.
A series of wheelchair bask-etball competitions, involving Sydney Paralympics star Lee Fawcett, was held at the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough.
Lee, 24, from Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, who helped Great Britain to fourth place overall at the 2000 paralympic games, led a Teesside Lions team.
An exhibition match, which saw a team of wheelchair basketball players take on an able-bodied team, served to raise awareness of disability in sport
