A FORMER director of an after-school care charity has been committed to Newcastle Crown Court on child sex charges.
Philip Hemmans, 33, appeared before Chester-le-Street magistrates yesterday on six charges of indecent assault.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between January and November last year.
Mr Hemmans, of Sacriston, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, was bailed to an address outside the area on condition of residence, not interfering with prosecution witnesses, and not entering Sacriston and Perkinsville.
He is due before Newcastle Crown Court on February 12.
Mr Hemmans resigned from his position at the Julie Graham Children's Charity following his arrest in November.
The charity, set up six years ago, runs out-of-school clubs for children aged four to 14
