A COLLEGE in Darlington is hosting contemporary exhibitions this week.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth-Form College will be showing Work in Progress by Simon Gregory and Extraordinary, work by ten modern artists, until Friday.
They will be on show in the college's exhibition area called The Space.
The exhibitions are open to the public and are free.
Simon Gregory's work features large scale ink-jet images on acetate and Extraordinary is the work of ten contemporary jewellery makers who fashion their pieces out of recycled material.
It is a touring exhibition, visiting six venues, and is organised by the Bowes Museum.
To complement the exhibitions, Karen Whiterod, one of the exhibitors, will give a talk about her work on Thursday, from 9.15am to 10.15am.
Tomorrow, John Atkin, head of sculpture at Loughborough University, and a former Queen Elizabeth College student, will talk about his work, which has just gone on exhibition the US
