FERRYHILL'S mayor has presented Prime Minister Tony Blair with a copy of the town's millennium video.
Mr Blair, who recorded the introduction to the video - called Ferryhill Past, Present and Future - during a visit to the town last year, received the tape from Councillor Edith Whitfield.
The video, which charts the history of the former mining community, was produced by film-maker Michael Bell.
He toured the town last year for footage of everyday life, including sporting events, market place activity, and featuring Ferryhill people young and old.
Ferryhill Town Band provided the soundtrack for the film, which has been selling well.
The first batch of videos, sponsored by Lafarge Lime and Lafarge Aggregates, has already sold out, but another delivery is expected soon.
To order a copy of the video, which costs £8, contact Ferryhill Town Hall, or call (01740) 652147
