ALARM and security workers across the region are planning to strike again this weekend.
The four-day strike by workers at ADT Fire and Security Alarm Systems will last from Friday to Monday, with staff returning to work at 8am on Tuesday.
Workers at ADT, which has offices across the country, including the North-East - at Stockton and Team Valley, Tyneside - are striking over new pay and conditions which they say the company has introduced without consultation.
The new action, which will affect about 60 engineers working in the area, follows a one-day strike last Monday.
A spokesman for the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union (AEEU), said: "The workers originally called a one-day strike over call-out pay. The company has now implemented new pay and conditions, and that is something they feel very strongly about."
A spokesman for ADT said: "We are very disappointed that the AEEU has decided to take industrial action.
"ADT has offered to set up a working party with the AEEU to develop a national agreement on stand-by and travel time arrangements."
