A CLUB has asked for a cash boost to help develop and promote ladies' football.
Darlington Ladies Football Club has asked Darlington Borough Council for £500 towards the continued development and formation of a new girls' football section in the Darlington area.
The money would also help to provide the 40 members of the club with a qualified coach to promote and improve women's and girls' football.
The club was recently given £200 from the Community Leisure Chest, also part of the council, towards the purchase of equipment.
Members of the council's cabinet committee will consider the application today, before members of the ratification committee make a final decision next month.
