WORK is under way to create a sports therapy centre in an old Hartlepool police station.
Simon Hunter, 29, of Hartlepool, is converting the office, in Brierton Lane, into a therapy centre. The centre will open opposite the £2m sports complex to be built at Brierton School.
Mr Hunter said: "I naturally hope everyone has an injury-free sporting career, but the fact is that sprains and other mishaps do occur, and my new centre will be well-placed to offer help to those aching limbs.
"The news about the Brierton sports complex could not have come at a better time for me."
He has received a £2,000 grant to reroof the building from the Enterprise Development Fund, operated by the Owton Rossmere Partnership, which works to help the regeneration of the area.
