DARLINGTON manager Gary Bennett is stepping up his interest in left back Nicolas Forge.
The Frenchman turned in another good display on Wednesday night in the reserves' defeat by Scunthorpe, after he impressed in his previous game against Blackpool Reserves last week.
Forge only arrived in the country eleven days ago, and Bennett said: "He has adapted well considering the circumstances, and he has been better than we anticipated.
"He has what we need on the left side, because we've only got Paul Heckingbottom as a left back. I will be speaking to his French agent about his situation."
New signing Mark Convery also played, and Bennett will probably add him to the squad for tomorrow's crucial away game at York City.
Striker Jamie Cook of Oxford and midfielder Scott Bolton of Bradford City also played in the game, but Bennett has yet to decide whether to follow up his interest in the players.
Adam Marsh is struggling with an Achilles problem, so he is likely to miss tomorrow's game. Paul Beavers will probably be added to the squad.
