MEMBERS of one of the region's most successful racing clubs are winging their way to South Africa for their ideal holiday.
Horse racing fans from the Mary Reveley Racing Club, in Stockton, will fly out to South Africa this week for a fortnight's trip.
They will touch down in Cape Town on Friday, from where they will visit the Kenilworth course for the J and B Met - the most prestigious event in the Cape's racing calendar.
During their stay, the club members will also watch racing at Durbanville, and go on a tour of the Eric Sands racing stables and the Avonuur stud farm.
Dave Green, of the 500-member racing club, said yesterday: "We like to see ourselves as a friendly organisation which provides a great deal of social activity, as well as the serious racing side.
"One of our main attractions is the link with Mary Reveley, who is widely regarded as the North-East's most successful dual purpose trainer.
