A COUNCIL is sharing its vision of the future with residents.

Middlesbrough Borough Council has gone into print, setting out its plans and targets to March 31, next year.

Its goals are contained in a 40-page prospectus which is being circulated around libraries, schools, housing offices and leisure centres across the town, and to the 1,200 people who make up the Voiceover citizens' panel.

"We are embarking on some exciting projects that will change fundamentally the way we work," said council leader Councillor Ken Walker.

"That's why it's important for local people to get a copy of the prospectus, read it, and, using the evaluation form, let us know what they think."

Council chief executive John Foster said: "The prospectus aims to demonstrate to citizens how the council is improving the way it gets things done.

"It's an accessible document that tells local people how their council is run and how we work in partnership with other agencies to deliver improved services for the town.

"There is detail about some important new developments over the next year. These include the public-private partnership with Hyder Business Services, changes to the way we organise our local democratic structure, and the new Community Strategy that will be prepared with organisations and groups across Middlesbrough.
