TWO councils have joined forces to introduce "townies" to the countryside.
Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland borough councils are organising a 17km walk linking the Cleveland Way at Highcliff Nab, above Guisborough, to the Teesdale Way, at Middlesbrough.
On completing the walk at Flatts Lane Country Park, walkers can opt to join wardens in a guided walk round the countryside, join in activities and find out about wildlife.
Anne Gladwin, Middlesbrough's access project officer, said: "This is a chance for local people to discover the countryside that is right on their doorstep."
