JUGGLING with figures took on a new meaning for bright youngsters attending a special maths master class on Teesside at the weekend.
Colin Wright expertly juggled balls for his Teesside-wide audience of 12 and 13-year-olds at the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough.
He caught and choreographed the movements of the balls in the air, to demonstrate mathematical patterns and structures.
This method of teaching was the idea of Dr Patricia Egerton, head of maths at the university's school of computing and mathematics, and organiser of the session.
She said: "Master classes are highly regarded by local schools, and are an exciting opportunity for children to expand their knowledge of maths.''
