SHOWBIZ is full of stars who have gone under the surgeon's knife in the pursuit of physical perfection.

But has an overweight rabbit ever before had cosmetic surgery?

Poor Tallulah wasn't a happy bunny because she was so overweight.

So a vet suggested a tummy tuck operation.

Rolls of fat made it difficult for her to clean herself properly and the bucks at Bunny Burrows in Richmond, North Yorkshire, were beginning to notice a distinct whiff of unwashed fur.

But, in a Beatrix-Potter-meets-Hollywood twist, rabbit refuge owner Gwen Butler took pity on the forlorn Dwarf Lop-Eared doe.

She arranged the tummy tuck operation at a vet's surgery in Harrogate.

The cosmetic surgery has not only helped Tallulah become more attractive, she is also more mobile and a lot happier.

"Dieting wasn't the answer as a rabbit's digestion can simply stop working properly if they don't get enough food and they can become ill as a result," said Gwen.

"However, as she was too fat to reach all of her coat, dirt was getting trapped in the rolls of fat and let's just say the smell may have made it difficult to find a new owner."

Happily slimmed down, Tallulah has since found a new home.
