A PAINTING by a young boy is to be seen all over the world, as interest in Gateshead's Millennium Bridge continues to grow.
A competition asked people to photograph, paint or draw the 850-tonne bridge, which became an overnight landmark when it arrived last November.
The painting by Craig Thompson, 12, of Ryton, Gateshead, impressed Gateshead Borough Council officials so much that the image will be used to promote the area across the globe.
Craig's painting is featured in the latest issue of Gateshead Council News, and will also appear on a postcard.
The youngster, who attends Ryton Comprehensive School, was a guest at Gateshead's latest council meeting.
When it opens later this year, the £22m bridge will provide a footpath and cycle way, linking arts and cultural developments at Gateshead Quays with Newcastle Quayside.
