ANGLERS from all over the region had to cast aside all hopes of a big catch at the weekend when a major competition was postponed because of the bad weather.
Blizzards and gales forced the cancellation of the annual Easington Sea Angling Competition, in east Durham.
But disappointed fishermen will get another chance to land a prize because the event has been rearranged for Sunday, February 18.
The competition is scheduled to begin at 11am and and finish at 4pm.
Any competitor who purchased a ticket for the original date and is unable to attend can apply for a refund before Friday, February 16.
