YOUNG soccer starlet Damon Robson has returned to the frozen pitches of the North-East from a training camp in the sunny climes of Spain.
The 17-year-old, from Great Lumley, near Chester-le-Street, trained with England's finest youngsters in La Manga.
The Newcastle United youth team member, who plays in central midfield, travelled to the camp with fellow Magpies' youngster Michael Chopra.
He said parents David, 45, and Julie, 39, along with brother David, 19, were proud of his achievement.
Damon, who has previously trained with England youths, said: "It was a brilliant experience and the facilities were very good. It was good to get back into the frame because I haven't been with England for about 18 months.
"I was surprised to get the call-up and even though it was only a training camp, hopefully it will lead to other things."
The former pupil of Chester-le-Street's Park View Comprehensive School said: "Things are going well at youth level for myself and I want to keep progressing and hopefully come through to the reserves. That's my next aim."
