FOUR wannabe male pop stars from North-West Durham are needed to form a group called Westend designed to rival superstars Westlife.
In a move to rival the hit TV show Popstars, local music business impresarios want young men who fancy their chances of becoming real life pop stars to audition in the unlikely surroundings of Stanley Central Workingmen's Club.
Former Stanley songwriter Karen Rhodes is masterminding the project from Blackpool where she is involved in setting up a music company called Starbiz.
She said: "Starbiz specialises in writing original and commercial material and we require four good-looking male applicants. It is very important they be determined and committed to work for me."
Anyone interested should call Miss Rhodes on (01253) 625563.
The date of the rehearsal is yet to be decided
