A POLICE force is holding sales in an attempt to cut vehicle crime.
Langbaurgh police are working with Langbaurgh Community Safety Partnership, Halfords, in Skippers Lane, South Bank, and Simon Bailes Garage, in Guisborough, to protect motorists from crime.
The partnership is offering £10 off Sold Secure or Thatcham security devices at Halfords, and a ten per cent discount on Thatcham devices at Simon Bailes.
The Community Safety Partnership is encouraging members of the public and private sectors to join together to help reduce crime.
Detective Inspector Gordon Lang, who is responsible for intelligence-led policing in the district, and is chairman of the Autocrime Task Group, said: "The task group is made up of representatives from the police, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, and local businesses Asda, South Cleveland Garages, Halfords and the AA.
"Our aim is to reduce car crime and enable people to park their cars, safe in the knowledge that when they return, they will be as they left them. This offer of cheaper security devices should help to deter the would-be thief."
