THREE sporting students are looking forward to taking part in a national competition after producing winning performances at regional level.
Jenn Cornes, Will McDougall and Caroline Jackson, who all attend Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough, will travel to Millfield school in Somerset for the British Colleges Sport national finals in April.
Jenn, an 18-year-old swimmer from Pinchinthorpe, earned her place after winning the 50m and 100m breaststroke events in the north-east finals at Bishop Auckland last month.
Will, 16, and 17-year-old Caroline will compete in the squash competition after taking the boys' and girls' sections respectively in a northern qualifier.
It is the second year running that Caroline has reached the national finals. She finished in third place at Blackpool last year.
Another Prior Pursglove student, Katy Livingstone, was runner-up in the north-east 100m backstroke and is in reserve for the national finals.
