A FORMER housing office which has fallen into disrepair is to be demolished.
The building, at 111-113 Marton Road, Middlesbrough, was originally constructed as two semi-detached houses in 1985.
It later became a housing office and was last rented as office space to Grove Hill 2000.
Since last September, the premises have stood empty.
At a meeting of Middlesbrough Borough Council's cabinet on Tuesday, several options for its future were discussed.
The ideas of bringing the building back into housing use and using it for another purpose were rejected in favour of demolition.
It was decided that the area had enough houses and that the price of converting it would be too high. The cost of demolition and restoring the site was estimated as £10,000.
