Durham Johnston Comprehensive School are currently enjoying an excellent period of sporting glory.
They achieved a triple success at the Durham County Individual Schools Cross Country Championships while several of the girls football teams have done well.
Three of the school's five cross country teams won their categories at the championships which were held at the school last week.
DJCS's winning teams were the Girls Under-12s, Under-15s and Under-17s while the boys Under-15s were second and the Under-17s were fourth.
The school's girls Under-17s have won the championship in previous years as Under-12s and Under-15s while the school's record in the Under-12 section is enviable. They've won the category for the past five years.
Teams - Girls Under-12s: Kate Young (2nd), Sian Curtis-Cunningham (6th), Vicki Attess (7th), Robyn Neely, Stephanie Gorlach, Lauren Hedley, Jenny Wagstaffe and Jemma Dinning.
Girls Under-15s: Sarah Davison (1st), Charlott Marwood (5th), Stephanie Proud (8th), Sarah Dixon (9th), Harriet Clark, Ruth Mackenzie, Kate Alty and Alex Dorrill.
Girls Under-17: Joanne Ritson (1st), Emma Bowes (4th), Aida Geragusian (5th), Vanessa Raw (7th), Rebecca Pearson, Helen Jordan, Stephanie Lemon and Amelia Gordon.
The schools' girls football teams have all managed success in various competitions.
The Under-12s have won the Bishop Auckland Schools five-a-side and the Durham County six-a-side tournaments while the Under-13s recently won the Newcastle United Adidas six-a-side Football in the Community Cup and will therefore represent Newcastle United at the North-East Championship in March. The achievement was even more remarkable as three regulars were unavailable.
The same team were runners up in the national five-a-side Wagon Wheels cup last year while the Under-12s compete in the regional finals of the same competition in Thornaby tomorrow.
Later this term the Under-14s hope to emulate last season's side who won the Durham County Cup.
At 11-a-side level the Under-16 team have reached the final of the County Cup as well as the second round of the National Schools Cup where they have been drawn away to Holmfirth High School (West Yorkshire)
