A GROUP of swimmers hope to make a splash when they take part in a competition over the weekend.
The Bazuka National Swimming Championships for secondary schools take place at the Crystal Palace Leisure Centre, London, today, and St John's RC Comprehensive School, in Bishop Auckland, will be sending its strongest swimmers to pit themselves against competitors from across the country.
The team have already tested the water in a series of heats.
Recently the junior girls' medley relay team came fourth in the country, while the junior boys' medley relay team came sixth. Both teams compete today.
The school has also entered swimmers in other relay and freestyle races.
