A GROUP of 125 pupils put on their dancing shoes yesterday to raise money for the Malcolm Sergeant Cancer Appeal for Children.
The youngsters from the Thornaby Community School took part in a sponsored dance-athon. The marathon dance started at 1pm with students from years seven to nine taking to the floor.
At 9pm, year ten and 11 students took over and continued to dance throughout the night until 9am today.
Live music was provided by students and musicians from Teesside Tertiary College. Organiser and teacher Kay Phil-lips, said: "We are delighted by the number of students willing to give up time to raise funds."
Money raised will go to the cancer appeal and towards the Thornaby Community School's minibus.
