A DOG had to be rescued by firefighters after falling between the soil and brickwork of a house extension.
Cleveland fire officers were called to Grassington Road, Beechwood, Middlesbrough, at 6.30pm on Saturday by the animal's owner. They found the dog's hind legs trapped between a gap in the unfinished extension.
Leading firefighter Chris Coverdale said: "The foundation was about two or three feet deep and there was a gap at either side of the bricks. The dog had slipped and become trapped between them, with its front legs on the soil and its back legs twisted."
The dog was released unhurt.
