STAFF and pupils from a Stockton primary school have paid tribute to a former pupil killed in a car accident last year.
At a ceremony in memory of Philip Newbold, his mother unveiled a floor-to-ceiling three panel memorial triptych in the school foyer. Donations from the school and community, and a substantial grant from Stockton Local Artists Development Fund enabled 20 year five and six pupils to work with artist Helen Shannon, and teacher Helen McCarthy, to create the multi-media collage on the theme of movement.
Deputy headteacher Doreen Ollier said: "We are thrilled that such a vibrant work of art, representing Philip's natural skills, should hang here, made by our pupils in Philip's memory."
