A £440,000 scheme to put closed-circuit television cameras on a Wearside housing estate has been given the go-ahead.
Plans to introduce 30ft-high security cameras at eight sites across Ford, Pennywell and South Hylton, in Sunderland, have been unveiled as part of efforts to combat crime.
Money for the scheme is provided by the Government Single Regeneration Budget.
