A SOLDIER from Stockton is helping the United Nations keep the peace in Cyprus.
Trooper Anthony Bradshaw arrived in Cyprus for a six- month tour in December.
He is a member of the Queen's Royal Lancers.
Until June, the regiment will be policing the buffer zone or Green Line between the Greek and Turkish forces in the last divided capital city in the world, Nicosia.
The Queen's Royal Lancers are normally based in Germany, and have recently completed a tour in Bosnia.
Former Norton School pupil, Anthony, 18, said: "The great aspect of working with the United Nations is that we feel that we are helping to keep the status quo in Cyprus."
