EARLY morning film screenings at a Darlington cinema are proving a hit with people over 60.
The town's ABC Cinema, on North Road, holds a 'Silver Screen' morning every Monday from 10.30am.
It is only open to people aged 60 or over, and shows a variety of films, both old and new.
The film mornings have proven so popular that about 50 people visit the cinema each week.
For just £1.50, cinemagoers can watch a film and have tea or coffee, and biscuits. Upcoming films include Billy Elliot and It's a Wonderful Life. Darlington ABC cinema manager Nici Waller said: "Many of the people have made new friends because they come every week, and we are pleased with how popular Silver Screen is.
