THE mystery owners of an internationally renowned collection of glass art have put it on display at Sunderland's National Glass Centre.
The West Midlands couple, who began their collection in 1990, have stipulated that their identity remains a secret, partly for security reasons.
The display, which opens today, includes the work of internationally renowned glass artists from Britain and the US and incorporates the work of renowned American glassmaker Dale Chihuly.
One of the collection's owners said: "Our primary aim is to stimulate interest in the art, in the hope that it will assist British glass artists and students of the art."
There will be a series of free guided tours of the event in the glass centre, at Liberty Way, in Sunderland, on Sunday, and also on Sunday, March 11, both at 3pm. The exhibition runs until March 30
