VET Nigel Haizelden is holding a course on first aid for horses on March 17 from 10am to 4.30pm.
It is intended for horse owners, riders, breeders and veterinary nurses and there are limited places. Quiet horses will be used for practice sessions. Course notes, refreshments and certificates of attendance are all included in the £50 price, but students have to take their own lunches.
The theory will be indoors with practical work in the stables and all dressings and bandages will be provided for the practical work.
The venue is Lower Dales Training, Wood Top Farm, Lindley, off the A59 Harrogate to Skipton road. Anyone interested should telephone 01943 850772 to book in time for the closing date of March 1.
The training centre also holds courses on how to cut down on diseases associated with vermin such as rats and mice - and how to rid paddocks and pastures of unsightly mole hills.
Places can be reserved for courses which will be held in the spring
