DURHAM'S Angus Smales was on top form at Stainsby Grange, Thornaby where he took the 25-starter Krailburg Coral Qualifier in a nine-pony jump-off.
The 14-year-old will be making his debut at the Blue Chip finals at Solihull with the eight-year-old Comsay Sam.
Angus competed in British team's second squad at County Cork last October and his main aim is selection for the FEI Pony European Championships.
His nearest rival was Ellen Whitaker riding Kinetic, while Victoria Benson travelled overnight from the Isle of Wight to take third place.
Darren Smith from Stockton took the fourth ticket for Solihull with the seven-year-old Sir Benjamin Brown, along with Rachel Towers (Little Bambuska) and Kelly Douglas (New Inn Hotshot).
Angus Smales was also runner-up in the Members Cup behind Sally Adams from Eaglescliffe riding Kosmic King.
James Reveley from Lingdale had a double win, taking the 11 years and under with Cappagh Misty and the 128/138 riding his new pony Spirit of Boadicea, while Emma Denton clinched the British Novice on Little Powerhouse.
l Carole Dennis from Borrowby was in tremendous form at Northallerton's senior show, clinching the Hadrian Equine Discovery on Crosby ahead of Jackie Wood riding Gypsy Mao.
Carole went on to take the Members Cup on her top event horse Beckett II. Her nearest rival was Chris Hill riding Seacroft Lad.
Lucinda Broad from Ripon, riding Revolution, clinched the Newcomers ahead of Carole Dennis on Sharon Watt's Our Dudley and Louise Smales riding Deeper in Debt. Lucinda also took the 1.10m open riding Uptown Lad.
