FERRYHILL could soon have a new youth centre, thanks to a £34,000 grant.
Ferryhill Community Partnership has secured money from the Single Regeneration Budget, subject to certain requirements.
Establishing a youth facility was one of the projects singled out as a priority in the town's community appraisal.
A building has been identified in the town centre and the grant, with £56,000 from Ferryhill Town Council, means that enough money has been raised to buy the building.
The community partnership, which is to register as a charity, is changing the date of its meetings to the second Monday of each month, at Ferryhill Library, at 7.15pm
