A MAYOR has decided to leave a growing legacy to her borough to mark her year of office.
Dorothy Clegg is nearing the end of her time as the Mayor of Scarborough, but has left a living record of her year by planting three trees in the borough's resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.
"Every mayor has an album of photographs to remind them of their mayoral year, but that is a very personal thing," said Councillor Clegg.
"This is a more public reminder of a very enjoyable and busy year."
She planted red oaks in Scarborough and Filey and a copper beech in her home town of Whitby.
