AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy is recovering in hospital after he was hit by a car in east Cleveland.
The accident happened in the village of Carlin How, on Thursday evening, when the boy, who was riding a bicycle, was crossing the A174 road near its junction with Front Street, and was hit by a Vauxhall Monterey car.
He suffered head injuries and a broken leg and was taken to Middlesbrough General Hospital where his condition last night was described as "poorly but stable".
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC Martin Atwell on (01642) 301558.
