MOBILE phone protestors are expected to stage a demonstration in a North-East town today.
The protestors from Northumberland will picket the Orange call centre in Darlington to protest against the building of a mobile phone mast outside Darras Hall Primary School, near Ponteland.
A coachload of families is expected in Darlington, while other protests are to be conducted at the company's Hertfordshire base and other phone company call centres in Winchester and Birmingham.
The day of action has been organised by Mast Action UK, a group formed to combat the rise of masts. It is expected that at least 15 adults and 30 children will make the trip to Darlington and will be joined by protestors from Barnard Castle, County Durham.
They will carry placards and posters, as well as sing songs and talk to employees going into the centre.
The protestors also hope to speak to bosses who refused to meet them last month in Darras Hall.
The Orange employees said they feared for their safety after 150 people turned up for the meeting.
