SPORTS clubs members from the Hambleton area are being urged to sign up to an initiative which could lead to improved facilities.
The district council has teamed up with Running Sports, a national body dedicated to assisting clubs, to hold a sports development planning session.
The workshop, at the Hambleton Leisure Centre, Northallerton, will look at the principles behind sports development and the planning process, and how to write a development plan to suit individual needs.
"With every sports club there is a need to improve facilities and the quality of coaches," said Dave Goodwin, head of leisure services.
"This workshop will help members do just that, as well as introduce ways of developing links between junior and senior sections, keeping volunteers and reaching funding targets. "It will provide an ideal opportunity for club members to look at the various ways in which the group can help itself develop."
The workshop will take place on March 8 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. For details and an application form call Pauline Dove on (01609) 767067.
