DISABLED children can enjoy a new multi-sensory world, thanks to a donation from a Teesside charity.
The Friends of Hartburn Lodge have raised £32,000 to equip a multi-sensory centre to stimulate youngsters with a variety of disabilities.
The lodge, which is run by Stockton Borough Council, has recently undergone a building refurbishment, and the Friends group decided to turn one of the new areas into the centre by raising money for a range of multi-sensory equipment.
A spokeswoman for the group said: "The centre is absolutely brilliant. It caters for children with all disabilities.
"The lodge did have some facilities before but they were upstairs which meant many youngsters could not enjoy them.
"Even youngsters who can only lie down will be able to use and benefit from this centre."
Trevor Arnold, of K Home Engineering, in Thornaby, opened the centre on Saturday.
The company helped kick-start the Friends fundraising by donating more than £1,000 from various staff-run events
