DRIVERS can expect disruption during the next few weeks as work is carried out on a main road.
It is not the first time Bow Street, Guisborough, east Cleveland, has been closed while Northumbrian Water carries out work, and it is described as a major headache by residents.
The road will be closed between Market Cross and Fountain Street for four weeks and means drivers have a long diversion via Westgate, New Road and Rectory Lane when making their journeys.
The road is considered a trouble spot for drivers because there is a double set of traffic lights.
Councillor Bill Clarke said the closure would be a serious inconvenience for local people.
The work is being done by Northumbrian Water to provide mains to a new estate.
"They get paid to do the work by McLean Homes, and they get money when people buy the houses - and all the people of Guisborough get is incovenience," he said
