POLICE investigating the murder of drugs tycoon Peter Beaumont-Gowling returned to the scene of the shooting yesterday, in a bid to jog the memory of potential witnesses.
Their return to Osborne Road, in the suburb of Jesmond, Newcastle, came a week to the day after the 52-year-old playboy was last seen alive.
Mr Beaumont-Gowling, who used to own Perry's Nightclub, now Club 2K, in Darlington, was found by his girlfriend on Valentine's Night. He had been shot several times in the back.
The former restaurateur had been released from prison only a few weeks before he was murdered.
The last reported sighting of Mr Beaumont-Gowling was at 1.55pm on Wednesday, February 14, when he was seen walking along Osborne Road towards St George's Terrace, in Jesmond.
Detective Superintendent Derek Storey, who is leading the murder inquiry, said: "Officers are in the area a week after Mr Beaumont-Gowling was last seen, to see if we can jog people's memories.
"We want to hear from anyone who saw or spoke to him last Wednesday."
Anyone with information should call the police on 0191-214 6555 ext 62501 or 62512, or go to the mobile police station in Osborne Road.
