Crook Wanderers went a goal down at home to Howden Australian in the Norman Wright Trophy semi final. Lee Morton equalised direct from a second half corner then Wayne Lonsdale gave Wanderers the lead for the first time. Australian missed a second half penalty but forced extra time with an 83rd minute equaliser. Chris Pounder restored the Crook lead and Kevin Sanderson made the final score 4-2. In the final Crook Wanderers will meet the winners of the Billy Row versus Byers Green clash.
Wearhead United are still looking for their first point after going down 3-1 at home to Byers Green St Peters. Kevin Dodds opened the scoring after just two minutes and later added a second. Michael Coulthard reduced the arrears just before half time. A second half goal from Edward Sharpe junior completed a 3-1 victory for Byers Green.
Will Noble gave Stanhope Town a sixth minute lead in the Weardale Cup tie with Willington Cottles. Goals from Ian Woodhall and Barry Goundry turned the game in favour of Cottles midway through the second half. Will Noble equalised in the 70th minute but Ian Britton scored in his first game for a year to put Cottles 3-2 up. Wayne Fleming added a fourth a minute from time.
